I was very
fortunate to discover a host of treasures at the Dorchester Abbey this past
weekend. JOHN PIPER and THE CHURCH surveyed
70 years of his output. This show of delights was rammed into an impossibly
small space in the South Transept. I would have moved some other stuff out to
make more room.
A bonus was
one of the Brass Bands rehearsing as part of the English Music Festival, more
precisely the Jaguar Land Rover Band with Dave Lea
Conducting. This was an extra treat for me, before heading home, full of Mr. Piper.
